Octagon Tactical Short
Fund is an aggressive short bias directional equity fund that seeks to
achieve capital appreciation in down markets and capital preservation in
up markets, by tactically exploiting short opportunities across Pan
Asia. The Fund will vary its net exposure between -20% to 200%,
maintaining net short at all times.
The Fund provides
actively managed short exposure for investors who are looking to express
a negative tactical market view, or to have a structural hedge for their
long-biased portfolios. |
BOARD
OF DIRECTORS
In addition to Lam Poh Min and
Nelson Chia, Mr.
Ronnie Wu and Mr. Lawrence Ka have been appointed as independent
Directors of the Fund.
RONNIE
WU
Mr. Ronnie Wu is
the founder and Chief Investment Officer of Penjing Asset Management (HK) Ltd, a
HK-based company with 9 professionals. He focuses on hedge fund research and
selection, overall portfolio construction and macro overlay. Mr. Wu was the
co-founder of Vision Investment Management Ltd (VIM) in June 2000. As Head of
Investment, he oversaw all investment related activities, such as due diligence,
manager selection, asset allocation, portfolio construction, performance
analysis, and risk management. Mr. Wu joined VIM from UBS Global Asset
Management in Hong Kong where he was hired as Associate Director in ’97, a key
team member responsible for managing two market-neutral, multiple strategies
fund of hedge funds. Prior to UBS, Mr. Wu spent four years at Chase Asset
Management in New York, where he was in portfolio management. Mr. Wu holds a
B.S. degree in Finance from University of Portland, USA and an MBA in Finance
from San Diego State University, USA. Mr. Wu is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
LAWRENCE
KA
Mr. Lawrence Ka is a co-founder
and the Portfolio Manager of Penjing Asset Management (HK) Ltd.
His primary
responsibilities include leading the research on market independent strategies
and operational due diligence on hedge fund managers. Prior to joining Penjing
Asset Management (HK) Ltd, Lawrence Ka was Director of UBS Global Asset
Management in Hong Kong, where he was portfolio manager of a number of market
neutral global fund of funds since 1998. Lawrence Ka has also worked as an
analyst with ING Barings and Standard Chartered Bank respectively. Prior to
those positions, he was a foreign exchange and fixed income dealer with Bank of
Tokyo, Kleinwort Benson and Bank of Bermuda in turn, over a 9-year period.
Lawrence Ka holds Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Management from the
University of Hong Kong. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and Certified
Public Accountant. |
